BASIC QUALIFICATIONS FOR ALL EMPLOYEES:
JOB DESCRIPTION: LEAD TEACHER
As a Lead Teacher at LWELC, you will be expected to manage the overall operation of the classroom, which includes (but is not limited to):
* Assist the director and other staff in maintaining a safe and clean learning environment on a daily basis.
*Designing developmentally appropriate curriculum and lesson plans.
* Mentor part time teachers in a caring and cooperative harmony.
* Develop and build parental rapport with positive and professional relationships.
* Ensure safety and health of children by providing a consistent, positive, and caring environment to children in care.
* Implement the developmental assessment to determine each child’s strength as well as determine areas they may need extra help.
*Develop lesson plans/ gather materials and supplies in advance for daily activities.
*Light cleaning duties/gathering dishes after meals
SKILLS:
· Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
· Team work skills
· The ability to multitask and take on different roles
· Leadership Skills
· Customer Service skills in interactions with parents and guardians
· Knowledge/experience in child development (preferred)
REQUIREMENTS:
Preferred- meet 1 of the 3 listed below to be considered Lead Qualified per KDHE requirements.
