POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking a highly experienced Lead Editor to join our team in London. This role is pivotal in shaping the output of Eurasia Group’s research analysts and revamping our flagship daily brief. The Lead Editor will be a strategic partner for research leadership, ensuring our analytical output aligns with client needs and meets high standards of excellence. The Lead Editor will report to the Deputy Head of Research and manage a team of two, with the expectation to build and manage a team of outside contractors for writing and editing on an as-needed basis.

DESIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • 10+ years of experience in editing within financial journalism, preferably with experience compiling a daily newsletter for a business audience.
  • Expertise in finance, economics, politics, or political science.
  • Proven ability to manage and build teams, including outside contractors for writing and editing as needed.
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and writing skills.
Responsibilities
  • Editorial Oversight: Shape the output of research analysts through rigorous oversight, including training, active review, and final review of analytical output. Deliver ex post feedback supported by a small team of editors, senior research leadership, and automated AI tools, which the Lead Editor will help develop.
  • Publication Process: Take over and revamp the publication process for Eurasia Group’s flagship daily brief, ensuring efficient production of a world-class daily product.
  • Strategic Partnership: Collaborate with research leadership to match analytical output to client needs. Participate in the product strategy group, conduct periodic product reviews, and shape the editorial style of our output.
