Description
Supports the creation of EHS goals and/or objectives for the site manager and appropriate activity-based goals for the leadership team, functional managers, and front-line supervisors to drive EHS culture, compliance, and results. Support site in achieving EHS targets & objectives. Support development, maintenance, and achievement of goals in support of corporate and business group EHS strategic initiatives. Manage the development and maintenance of risk assessments at the location to identify critical EHS hazards and opportunities for safety improvements for jobs/tasks. Manage multiple MESH Elements and will support other MESH element champions and facilitate their engagement in ownership of the MESH elements. Work with EHS leader and MESH element champions to complete an annual evaluation of compliance for EHS country, state, and local regulations. Lead injury and illness investigations, as well as near misses, using A3 problem solving (or others) to capture lessons learned and implement corrective, preventive measures to avoid future injuries. Prepare reports of key EHS performance indicators to track leading and lagging indicators and supporting EHS information for presentation to Leadership group(s). Lead EHS engagement through EHS teams and committees needed to accomplish the established targets and objectives for the year. Recognize and integrate principle Continuous Improvement (Lean/CI) concepts into EHS and vice-versa. Assist with the implementation of MESH (Management System of Environmental, Safety, Security and Health) and will utilize MESH tools to drive improvements by participating and co-leading MESH Teams. Prepare and deliver presentations across all functions to ensure compliance to MESH guidelines and persuade or lead teams to effective resolutions. Ensure confidential, discreet handling of sensitive, confidential and proprietary information and tact and initiative in contacts with company employees, management and external regulatory/legal agencies or sources. Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Health, and Safety or equivalent from an accredited institution required Minimum of three (3) years' experience in EHS. Minimum of two (2) years' experience in the manufacturing industry. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without out company sponsorship, now or in the future. Strong knowledge of EPA, OSHA & DOT federal, state and local regulations. Ability to demonstrate managerial courage (e.g., managing varied interests representing potential conflicts). Ability to lead and support cross-functional EHS teams.
