Scope of Work
Responsibilities include drafting primarily in building construction and in the development of construction documents. CAD technician will work primarily within our Mechanical and Electrical Department preparing technical drawings and plans under the supervision of engineers and designers for use in submittals. Will need to interpret architectural, structural, mechanical, plumbing, fire protection and civil drawings.

Position Requirements

  • Support BIM lead in coordination/design of complex projects.
  • Populate electrical content using Revit MEP. and or Cad
  • Create sheets, details, and layouts for coordination & construction.
  • Review Architectural, Structural & MEP design documents.
  • Read product details/cut sheets.
  • Clash detection using Autodesk Navisworks.

Essential Duties

  • Perform basic design work on a variety of projects and prepare reports and construction drawings.
  • Assist on 2D and 3D preparations of drawings, using computer aided design (CAD) or building information modeling (BIM)
  • Convert and digitize electronic files into usable CAD files.
  • Prepare all drawings in compliance with company drawing and CAD/BIM standards.
  • Perform redline mark ups as directed by others, including mechanical and plumbing systems.
  • Collect data and gather information or documents for architectural projects.
  • Assist with preparation of permit submittal documents and applications.
  • Support architectural design team in daily planning, coordination, and completion of projects.
  • Learn state and federal laws & regulations and adapt building codes and standards as required to integrate into projects.
  • Edit and or prepare specifications associated with the electrical system designed.
  • Be able to discuss electrical projects and solutions with owners.
  • Capable of working with contractors in the field, either in gathering information or figuring out a solution to a problem.
  • Perform other project duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering; or in lieu of a degree, 4+ years of related experience and/or training.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Photo Editing Software, Newforma and Microsoft Office Suite.
