Description
Responsibility as electrical engineering lead for engineering development of complex electrical projects including; requirements development, mechanical and electrical designs, PCB design, analysis, and verification. Provides support to management on technical direction of projects and processes. Participates in technology roadmap development Ensures adherence to MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-704, and DO-160 requirements as applicable. Application of Design for Six Sigma tools and methods to drive product robustness Uses and champions structured problem-solving technique, such as 8Ds, with strong communication/presentation skills for reporting status to customers and/or senior management. Actively engages engineering team members to evaluate design ideas, provide mentoring, and support successful product development Participate in internal and external design reviews for development projects. Attend internal design reviews conducted by the team or other engineering design teams, as a subject matter expert. Prepare and conduct design reviews and RCCA report-outs directly with customer. engineering proposals, selecting the best design concept solution including compliance to customer specifications and industry regulatory requirements. Estimate electrical engineering effort required for new projects and outline the proposed design concept accurately enough for project and unit cost to be estimated. LI-LD1 Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited university. Minimum 7 years of experience in engineering in an aerospace manufacturing environment Knowledge of Electrical Hardware and Electronics Design You must be a U.S. citizen to be eligible and considered for this position pursuant to applicable U.S. Federal Government contract requirements. BS Degree in Electrical Engineering MS in engineering is desirable 10 years leading New Product Development or Research and Development projects Experience with PCB design and analysis preferred Knowledge of aerospace component test methods and capabilities Ability to interpret aerospace technical requirement and knowledge of industry standard requirements Knowledge of standard aerospace manufacturing processes and ability to design for manufacturability Experience with Structured Problem Solving practices including the use of Six Sigma methods. Position Criteria: Experience with mechanical hardware associated with electrical equipment Experience with electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), electromagnetic interference (EMI), EMI/EMC testing & analysis Experience with technology development and integration into new products required Ability to lead electrical engineering aspects of projects from inception to qualification Ability to lead product investigations using structured problem solving techniques Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication presentation skills and the ability to work well with customers and development team members Ability to build strong cross functional working relationships Ability to mentor engineers We are committed to ensuring equal employment opportunities for all job applicants and employees.
