Description

SUMMARY:

Under the general direction from the Operations Manager, Lead Electrician/Electrical Designer installs and services electrical systems in an industrial automation setting. Lead Electrician/Electrical Designer works with the engineering and controls teams to design systems around the customer requirements. Lead Electrician/Electrical Designer works with the account management and estimating groups during the quoting and kick-off phases of a project to ensure timelines, resources and budget are accounted for in the design and execution of the electrical system.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Certified 442A Electrician Journeyperson
  • University degree and/or a college diploma in electrical engineering or related field is an asset
  • 5+ years of experience in electrical installation
  • Exceptional knowledge and understanding of CSA, NEC and NFPA 70 electrical regulations and standards.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in the use of AutoCad to create electrical schematics.
  • Electrical and pneumatic systems troubleshooting.
  • Experience working with programmable logic controllers.
  • Experience with servo actuators, variable frequency drives and stepper motors.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, decision making and critical thinking.
  • Ability to lead and mentor a team.
  • A valid driver’s license and a passport, ability to travel internationally as required

Responsibilities
  • Design, install, maintain and troubleshoot electrical wiring, fixtures, control devices and equipment in accordance with applicable electrical codes and regulations.
  • Prepare the electrical Bill of Materials in collaboration with the engineering and purchasing departments to meet budget and timing constraints.
  • Provide direction and lineups to junior electricians.
  • Control panel wiring and integrations.
  • Support on-site customer installations as required.
  • Work in compliance with the health and safety regulations and quality standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.
