THE IMPACT YOU’LL MAKE

Are you driven to create impactful solutions for sustainability in one of the world’s fastest-growing sectors? As demand for cloud computing and AI-driven services accelerates, data centers face unprecedented pressure to improve energy efficiency and reduce emissions through advanced automation.
Danfoss is seeking a Lead Engineer, Customer Control Development – Data Centers, to join our Application Control Development team. Reporting to the Director of Application Software, you’ll play a key part in designing and developing innovative system-level control applications that support the decarbonization and optimization of thermal infrastructure in data centers and industrial environments.
Success will be measured by your contributions to effective, scalable control solutions and by strong collaboration across internal and external stakeholders.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Control, Mechanical, or related Engineering field.
  • Proven experience designing and implementing control systems for thermal management (HVAC, cooling, industrial processes).
  • Proficiency in Model-Based Design with MATLAB/Simulink and practical experience with real-time control platforms (e.g., PLCs).
  • Hands-on expertise in validating and troubleshooting control systems through simulation and field testing.
  • Knowledge of cloud-based monitoring/optimization, control theory, and experience in multinational project environments; data center background is a plus.
We are seeking a proactive and self-driven professional with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, able to interpret both simulation and field test results. You thrive in multicultural, cross-disciplinary teams and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders. With a commitment to continuous learning, you are confident leading technical discussions, building consensus, and adapting in a dynamic environment. The role also involves occasional onsite presence at customer locations, data centers, or test facilities for system validation.
Responsibilities
  • Act as system control architect, designing scalable and energy-efficient solutions for thermal management in data centers and industrial applications.
  • Develop, test, and optimize modular control algorithms and systems, ensuring reliability through simulation and real-world validation.
  • Integrate control solutions with cloud platforms to enable remote monitoring, predictive maintenance, and continuous optimization
  • Collaborate with customers, OEMs, and internal teams to align solutions with technical requirements, sustainability goals, and business objectives.
  • Ensure software quality and performance through code/design reviews and by staying updated on the latest control technologies and industry trends.
