Supernal provides an inviting open-space workplace designed to foster collaboration, which aligns with one of our core values. This position is required to work on-site 5 days a week.

WHAT WE DO:

Supernal is seeking a Lead Electrical Wiring (EWIS) Engineer to drive the design, integration, and execution of critical wiring systems for a next-generation electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft. In this role, you will lead cross-functional integration across electrical, avionics, and mechanical systems, manage zonal digital mock-ups, and ensure robust design execution aligned with safety-critical aerospace standards. As a lead, you will also provide technical direction, mentor engineers, and own key aircraft-level decisions within your area of responsibility.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as the technical lead for wiring design and integration within a major aircraft zone, ensuring cross-functional alignment and regulatory compliance
  • Lead and mentor a team of engineers across wiring design, 3D integration, and lab support activities
  • Drive trade studies, design reviews, and architecture decisions for safety-critical wiring systems
  • Act as the primary engineering interface for assigned aircraft sections, collaborating with systems, structures, avionics, and manufacturing teams
  • Develop and maintain complex wiring diagrams and wire harness documentation using Siemens Capital or equivalent tool
  • Lead the creation and integration of 3D wire harness models using 3Dx Catia, ensuring full fitment and maintainability in the aircraft digital mock-up
  • Integrate communication protocols including ARINC, CAN, Ethernet, and Serial across multiple subsystems
  • Modify and optimize conformal harnesses for both flight and test environments, including support for instrumentation, diagnostics, and power management
  • Own and manage the digital mock-up (DMU) for a large aircraft section, ensuring all subsystems are accommodated, accessible, and properly routed
  • Control space allocations, routing envelopes, and maintain adherence to system separation and interface requirements models (IRMs)
  • Manage the top-level part numbers, BOM structures, and master geometry models for assigned aircraft zones
  • Lead design fly-throughs and configuration reviews to identify issues early and maintain technical alignment through Critical Design Review (CDR)
  • Ensure all designs meet or exceed applicable standards, including FAR Part 23/25, AC 43.13-1B, AS50881, and ASTM F2639
  • Troubleshoot and resolve integration and wiring issues during lab bring-up and testing, developing rework plans and corrective actions as needed
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering to ensure design-for-manufacturability (DFM) and production-readiness across all wire harness systems
