Description
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of design engineers and draftsmen specializing in fire protection and fire alarm systems. Manage and oversee design activities across multiple projects, ensuring quality, accuracy, and timely delivery. Establish and maintain design quality standards and ensure compliance with applicable codes and regulations, including NFPA, SEC, HCIS, SAF, and SWCC requirements. Allocate resources effectively, prioritize workloads, and monitor team performance to meet project deadlines. Review and approve fire protection system designs, hydraulic calculations, technical specifications, and Bills of Quantities (BOQs) before client submission. Ensure the accurate and timely handover of completed design packages to project execution teams. Coordinate with internal stakeholders, clients, consultants, and regulatory authorities to ensure project success. Identify and implement design improvements, best practices, and value engineering opportunities. Support business objectives by ensuring commercially viable and technically sound design solutions. Requirements Bachelor's Degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline. Minimum 5 years of experience in fire protection system design. At least 2 years of experience in a supervisory, team lead, or management role. Proven experience managing design teams and handling multiple projects simultaneously. Strong expertise in: Firefighting systems (sprinkler, hydrant, hose reel, and suppression systems) Fire alarm and detection systems Hydraulic calculations and system design NFPA standards and local regulatory requirements Proficiency in relevant design software and engineering tools. Strong leadership and team management abilities. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Strong problem-solving, planning, and organizational capabilities. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
