Job Description Summary This role is in High Pressure Compressor section for GE legacy engines in Structure commodity. Activities contributing to the design and development of products, solutions and systems. Includes activities linked to technical improvement of existing products and components Impacts quality of own work and the work of others on the team. Executes standard operational/technical tasks typically subject to instructions and work routines. There is latitude to rearrange the sequence to complete task/duties based on changing work situations. Job Description Site Overview Established in 2000, the John F. Welch Technology Center (JFWTC) in Bengaluru is our multidisciplinary research and engineering center. Engineers and scientists at JFWTC have contributed to hundreds of aviation patents, pioneering breakthroughs in engine technologies, advanced materials, and additive manufacturing. Roles Overview: Execute design and analysis activities for Structural components of engine modules for issue resolution, performance improvements, cost/weight reduction, Durability and producibility improvements Delivery on cost, performance & weight targets Collaborate with PSE for developing field plan Should network with Commodity CTHs, Cross functional teams viz. Supply Chain, Repair, MAE, CTPs and Shop technical teams to achieve the desired outcomes Foster and inspire a collaborative work style and display team-oriented behavior with proactive communication internally and externally Provide technical guidance & mentor younger engineers in team Leverage digital tools & analyze the data insights to drive appropriate actions Ideal Candidate: Should have experience in Mechanical design/hardware ownership. Required Qualifications PhD/MTech /MS/BTech/BE in Mechanical/Aerospace 4+ years of relevant experience on Mechanical design/hardware ownership/ Finite element analysis of rotating parts preferably in aircraft engine/gas turbine domain. Desired Characteristics Exposure to Heat transfer analysis, Lifing methodologies, Manufacturing processes will be added advantage Strong oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs. Established project management skills. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills. Ability to influence others and lead small teams. Lead initiatives of moderate scope and impact. Effective problem identification and solution skills.
