Lead Engineer, Product Design and Engineering – Mechanical plays a key role in the development of advanced camera and robotics systems, contributing to the full product lifecycle from concept through production. This role applies sound mechanical engineering principles to deliver high-quality, reliable mechatronic products that meet business, technical, and regulatory requirements. Working within interdisciplinary teams, the engineer supports innovation, prototyping, testing, and production readiness of new solutions. As a Lead Engineer, Product Design and Engineering - Mechanical, you will be responsible for: • Executing the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements. • Mechanical design and product development of camera systems and robotics systems. • Testing and verification of prototypes. • Sourcing of prototype parts from suppliers. • Preparation of production/assembly documentation and drawings. • Design of production tools to help assembly of new products and help with testing. To be successful in this role you will: • Hold bachelor’s degree from an accredited university, college, or technical school in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, with hands-on experience in mechanical engineering or technology roles. • Have proven experience using SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD tools for mechanical design, modeling, and technical documentation. • Have hands-on experience working with mechatronic assemblies, including the integration of mechanical components, electronics, and cabling. • Have previous product design and development experience, ideally covering prototype build, testing, and transition to production. • Bring exposure to simulation or analysis tools, which is considered an advantage. • Have a proactive, hands-on team player with strong oral and written communication skills in both German and English, comfortable working in interdisciplinary environments.
