Job Summary: JOB DESCRIPTION – Lead Engineer (Privacy & AI Governance) Location: Gurugram, Haryana, India THE JOB – We’re looking for a Lead Engineer who is passionate about technology and has a strong desire to learn and grow their skills. This role will be responsible for leading a team of developers, driving hands-on development, and ensuring delivery of high-quality software products. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Java and related technologies, actively contribute to development, guide team members, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment. This position reports to the Senior Director - Product & Technology. WHAT THIS ROLE WILL DO  Strong Core Java Experience and advanced working knowledge of J2EE (Java 17/21, REST, Webservices and JDBC), Hibernate and Web Services-related technologies.  Minimum of 6+ years of hands-on experience in J2EE Development  Minimum 6 years of experience in Maven and Spring MVC 4.0 and spring boot  Strong hands-on experience with Core Java, J2EE & SOA Architecture  Great knowledge of Agile Project management including Scrum and Kanban. Ability to write effective stories as required.  Should have SQL & RDBMS skills and developer experience on databases like MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle.  6+ years of experience in working with AWS.  Extensive experience developing applications using Open-Source Frameworks, IDEs, and Java Application Servers.  Experience working with Elasticsearch and Kafka  Experience with performance tuning to the speed, efficiency, and scalability of Java-based applications.  Experience on working with CI/CD pipelines.  Excellent Debugging / Troubleshooting skills  Excellent Communication Skills.  Ability to pick up any ad-hoc technology and continuous curiosity for new technologies on the horizon. EXPERIENCE - 8 to 12 years SKILLS Required  Strong Core Java Experience and advanced working knowledge of J2EE (Java 17/21, REST, Webservices and JDBC), Hibernate and Web Services-related technologies.  Strong SQL & RDBMS skills and developer experience on databases like Cassandra, MySQL, SQL Server, and Oracle.  6+ years of experience in working with AWS. Including using Serverless, Docker and K8S  2–4 years of experience in a Lead Engineer or technical leadership role. Nice to have  Design and develop microservices using Spring Boot, ensuring high performance, scalability, and maintainability.  Experience working with Kafka and NoSQL Platforms (Cassandra preferred).  Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.  Working closely with DevOps teams for deployment and configuration management.  Basic familiarity with AI-powered tools (e.g. GitHub Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT) to assist with code generation, script automation, and building simple agents that automate routine engineering tasks.
