Job Description Summary Activities contributing to the design and development of products, solutions and systems. Includes activities linked to technical improvement of existing products and components. Impacts departmental operations and responsible for planning/execution. The role has some autonomy but is focused on execution of activities within an operating discipline covered by standard functional practices and procedures. Some judgment may be required but this is typically with guidance. Job Description Roles and Responsibilities Responsible for execution of laboratory and field validation testing, inspection and data acquisition for use in the design and validation of products and services. Support the setup and operation of digital, high speed film and video recording technology associated with the acquisition of High-Speed Photonic data for engineering and certification testing of GE Aerospace products. Broadening knowledge of own technical discipline to execute policy/strategy. May include support roles with specialized technical field of knowledge; still acquiring higher level knowledge and skills. Coordinate the ID, packaging & shipment of required imaging systems hardware & software to and from test locations. Coordinate related efforts with the overall test schedule across multiple GE Aerospace organizations & locations. Support local teaming, productivity & New Product Introduction (NPI) initiatives to enhance the overall effectiveness of the testing services. Maintain related equipment in both the lab environment & on-site at test locations. Responsible for planning, test request interpretation, test setup & execution, & post-test processing & reporting. Basic understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. Good understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area. May have some autonomy to make decisions within a defined framework. Resolves issues in situations that require good technical knowledge and judgment within established procedures. Consults more senior team members for issues outside of defined instructions/parameters. Support lean and organizational initiatives Utilize various computerized system & software programs for monitoring of testing & post test engineering data reduction & assessment purposes. Travel (domestic and international) up to 25-30% of time. Requires schedule flexibility. Ability to obtain and maintain a military clearance. A job at this level requires good interpersonal skills. Develop strong customer relationships and serve as the interface between customer and GE Aerospace. Ability to explain technical information to others. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 6 years of High-Speed Imaging experience. Minimum of 3 years' experience in design engineering Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required.
