This role is for one of the Weekday's clients Min Experience: 10 years Location: Hyderabad JobType: full-time We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Engineering Manager with strong expertise in Java Fullstack development and Python, who will be responsible for driving end-to-end engineering execution and leading a high-performing development team. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical knowledge, proven leadership, and experience building scalable, high-availability systems. This role requires a hands-on engineering leader who can architect solutions, mentor engineers, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and deliver high-impact products in an agile environment. Key Responsibilities Technical Leadership & Delivery Lead and mentor a team of full-stack and backend engineers, providing technical guidance, code reviews, and performance management. Own architectural decisions, technology roadmap, and development best practices for scalable and secure enterprise-grade applications. Drive full SDLC execution including requirement analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, and documentation. Oversee delivery timelines and ensure high-quality engineering output aligned with business goals. Develop and improve system reliability, performance, and scalability. Software Development Design and build robust RESTful APIs, backend microservices, and web applications using Java, Spring/Spring Boot, Python, and related frameworks. Lead full-stack development using React.js / Angular / Vue.js or similar modern JavaScript frameworks. Build integration pipelines, automate deployments, and support CI/CD practices. Ensure implementation of modern software engineering practices including TDD, code reviews, refactoring, logging, monitoring, and security controls. Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with Product Management, Design, QA, DevOps, and Business stakeholders to define scope and deliver roadmap commitments. Facilitate communication within the engineering team and across departments to ensure alignment and issue resolution. Represent engineering in planning meetings, technical discussions, and leadership reviews. Team & Culture Building Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement. Support hiring, onboarding, goal-setting, and competency building for team members. Coach engineers for career growth and high performance. Required Skills & Qualifications Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. 10–14 years of experience in software development, with at least 3–5 years in a leadership or managerial role. Deep hands-on expertise in Java, Spring Boot, microservices, and Python development. Strong experience with full-stack development, including frontend frameworks such as React.js / Angular / Vue.js, HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript/TypeScript. Experience with cloud platforms (AWS / Azure / GCP), containers, Docker, Kubernetes is highly desirable. Solid understanding of databases (SQL & NoSQL), distributed systems, caching and messaging frameworks (Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc.). Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab, GitHub Actions) and DevOps principles. Strong grounding in data structures, algorithms, system design, and software architecture. Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Preferred Attributes Experience working in agile, product-based, or high-growth startup environments. Ability to influence decision-making and drive technical strategy. Passion for coaching, mentorship, and building engineering excellence.
