Gilliatte General Contractors, Inc. looking for an experienced Facilities Maintenance Technician. Your 5+ years of experience in commercial and / or residential construction will serve you well! Experience with metal studs and drywall hanging is a plus! This position works in variable locations, mostly in the Indianapolis Metro area; however travel outside of Indianapolis may be required. A Valid Drivers License is required along with the ability to pass an MVR. Duties/Responsibilities: Inspects and identifies equipment in need of repair. Troubleshoots issues to determine necessary repairs. Plans repair work using buildings blueprints or equipment manuals as needed. Performs general repairs that do not require a specialized technician. Examples may include repairing drywall, painting, plumbing, appliances, light electrical, and repairing doors and other building fixtures. Performs routine maintenance on building systems. Cleans and assists with upkeep of the facilities. Orders supplies and materials needed for repairs and maintenance. Performs other related duties as assigned. Requirements Required Skills/Abilities: Ability to follow instructions from supervisors or senior maintenance workers. Knowledge of general carpentry and repair. Ability to use hand tools and power tools. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Valid driver’s license. Must be able to pass a Moving Vehicle Report You may be required to pass a background check Education and Experience: 5+ years of related experience in either the commercial or residential fields. On-the-job training offered. Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods standing and walking. Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces. Must be able to lift 60 pounds at a time.
