Your Role as Lead - Finance Business Partner This role leads financial performance management by providing high-quality insights, supporting informed decision-making, driving disciplined cost management, and ensuring alignment with organisational strategy. You will oversees asset-related financial management and manages a team of Accountants to ensure the delivery of accurate and timely financial information. In this role you play a critical role in driving financial performance, supporting service viability, and ensuring funding compliance across government and client-funded programs. As a key strategic advisor to operational leaders, the role enables evidence-based decisions and supports service innovation, sustainability, and growth You’ll deliver this role by: Partner closely with Executive and senior leaders to provide financial strategy and support informed, evidence-based decision making. Deliver high-quality scenario modelling, cost–benefit analysis and financial insights that clarify and support strategic choices. Translate complex financial and operational data into clear, actionable recommendations. Provide trusted financial advisory support during business planning, reviews and investment decisions. Lead annual budgeting and iterative forecasting processes across all portfolios. Collaborate with leaders to understand cost drivers, operational changes and funding implications. Ensure all forecasts are accurate, risk-adjusted, evidence based and aligned with organisational strategy. Produce monthly performance reporting, including variance analysis, KPIs, trend analysis and insights for executive and program governance. Identify emerging financial risks, opportunities and cost pressures with recommended mitigations. Support for business cases for service expansions, new programs and tenders. Lead and develop a small team of accountants, fostering capability, accuracy and a collaborative culture. Lead enhancements to budgeting, reporting, modelling and data quality; champion effective use of ERP and analytics platforms such as Tech One and Power BI. Develop tools, dashboards, SOPs and templates that streamline financial processes and insights. What We’re Looking For Tertiary Degree in Accounting or Finance, supported by CA/CPA (or equivalent) professional qualification. Extensive Experience in financial planning and analysis, management accounting and financial performance roles within medium-large organisations. Strong capability in financial modelling, budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis and performance reporting. Proven ability to partner effectively with senior leaders across multiple portfolio’s. Experience leading, coaching or mentoring finance staff to support capability growth and accuracy. Ability to present and translate complex financial information clearly for non-financial stakeholders. Advanced skills in ERP systems and reporting tools, such as Powel BI, Excel, Tech One or similar platforms. Strong understanding of capital expenditure, asset management principles, cost centre structures and financial controls. Demonstrated ability to interpret financial and operational data to support decision making, manage priories, meet deadlines and support month-end processes. A Valuable Addition, Yet Not a Must-Have! Experience preparing financial components of business cases and long-term asset plans. Familiarity with government-funded environments and compliance frameworks. Experience with organisational transformation, service redesign, or process re-engineering.
