Role Description:
About Us: At Booking.com, data drives our decisions. Technology is at our core. And innovation is everywhere. But our company is more than datasets, lines of code or A/B tests. We’re the thrill of the first night in a new place. The excitement of the next morning. The friends you encounter. The journeys you take. The sights you see. And the memories you make. Through our products, partners and people, we make it easier for everyone to experience the world.
Introduction: Moving forward with the strategy of the connected trip and the current organization structure, the FP&A team is at the forefront of implementing these changes to allow for the increasing complexity of decision making and transparency to happen in a timely manner. We offer a dynamic, motivating and sophisticated work environment. A culture that is open, innovative and performance orientated. Our scale and scope, commitment to people and high standards of integrity make Booking.com a great place to work.

The role: In this Lead Financial Analyst, Marketplace role you will be part of a dynamic, international and fast-paced team, working in the scope of the Marketplace department. This position is based in our headquarters in Amsterdam and will report to the Senior Manager of FP&A, Marketplace.
This position offers the opportunity to drive financial decision making within Booking.com. You will be required to provide strong financial and analytical support to your business unit (BU) or department’s stakeholders. You will have to bridge what the data tell you and how that could help decision-making on a wide array of topics. You will be supporting the planning and forecasting cycles for both financial and operational business metrics. This includes revenues, expenses and other important KPIs; it also includes non-financial metrics and driver metrics of performance. You will also be involved in reporting versus budget and forecast and support on ad-hoc analyses whenever there is a need from the business.
Specific to this Lead Financial Analyst, Marketplace role, you will work in a team of Financial Analysts. Your span of work will be across the Marketplace department; you will also support the wider FP&A sub-department on cross functional projects as needed. Example programs and responsibilities include (not to the limitation) the examples below.
Your role and immediate team of colleagues will focus on the commercial value-creation of initiatives led by Marketplace. These include the commercial P&L of Marketplace (revenue, contra-revenue investments, ROI, etc.) Genius/Loyalty, incentives/promotions, packages (and soon the packages directive), and any other commercial initiative lead by Marketplace. You and your team of colleagues will also develop in partnership with Marketplace-Date a measurement, tracking, reporting, forecasting, and governance structure around cross-sell and multi-vertical effects within Booking.com’s multi-vertical connected-trip ecosystem. Specifically, governed reporting and trading-meetings to be established against the Intent+Discovery and Commercial-P&L of Marketplace.
You and your team of colleagues will also partner with commercial aspects of Marketplace that don’t have a true P&L - this includes the ET team to support best-practice experimentation diligence across the business, and understanding the P&L impact/risk of experimentation. Additionally, the team will partner with product-initiatives and growth-investments (via FFF, GAP, or otherwise) that are long-term and/or tech-platform oriented (eg content agency, ML, order platform, GenAI-4-CS, …) - focused on the value creation aspects of these initiatives. Moreover, partnering with the Data team in Marketplace to establish more robust, governed and understood connected-trip-measurement KPIs.
Due to the continuous evolution of the organization, the tasks and duties of this role will evolve over time. You will be keen to develop and grow within the role and challenge yourself to take on additional projects and responsibilities as they present themselves. This role requires a dynamic and proactive person with strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
