Description

We’re looking for a versatile Lead Game Artist to help us create the next generation of pro-social multiplayer games on new platforms like Discord. This is a generalist, hands-on, role where you’ll create and help direct work across all aspects of game art - including 2D, 3D, animation, effects, and UI - in a variety of projects where we’re partnering with Discord and other web-based platforms to make innovative and ambitious games for a wide and inclusive audience.
Mojiworks is a 8x winner of GamesIndustry.biz’s Best Places To Work awards, an online & remote company, and proud of our progressive culture and diverse team.
Whether you’re a Senior Artist with lead-like experience looking to take the next step, or have existing experience as an Lead Artist, Art Director, or Head of Art, we encourage you to apply if you want to work in highly collaborative environment with a small team where you and your work will really matter, and where you will be well supported in growing to do the best work of your career.

ABOUT US

Mojiworks is a leader in games for Discord, a pioneer of next generation social games with 140M players and counting, and a 8x winner of GamesIndustry.biz’s Best Places To Work awards.
Since 2016 we’ve led the way in using modern social apps as places for a new type of game. Played in the online places where friends already hang out, our games are designed to strengthen friendships and start new ones through the joy of playing together.
Mojiworks is an online & remote company, with an administrative HQ in Guildford, UK. We’re distributed across locations, and highly collaborative using Slack text & video. We pride ourselves on our strong connections & community within the company, which we invest heavily in to.
We believe that being online, rather than physically centralised, makes us the best team: we can have diverse talent from all over the world; better support individual working needs; and lift everyone up to have the same opportunity for impact & collaboration.
We work flexibly, but have core hours around Europe/Middle-East/Africa timezones.

Responsibilities
  • Create a variety of 2D and 3D game art by collaborating in teams of 3-15 game developers
  • Work on the entire lifecycle of projects, from concept to live operations, across multiple games in our portfolio
  • Help mentor and support other artists, although we don’t expect you to do people-management unless this is a direction you want to develop in
  • Use PlayCanvas, our preferred editor and toolchain, to integrate assets and develop the visual presentation
