This position is fully remote CET ±3h or Barcelona-based.

Responsibilities

We are looking for a Lead Game Designer to join the Block Jam 3D team and help push our game to the next level in meta design, gameplay features, and player engagement.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with top-grossing Match-3 or puzzle mobile games and a strong understanding of mechanics, systems, and hybrid F2P economies that make these games successful. You will work closely with Product, Art, and Engineering to create engaging features, refined gameplay loops, and innovative meta-systems that improve player retention, monetization, and overall fun.

What you will do:

  • Feature & System Design
  • Design new gameplay features, core loops, and meta systems to drive long-term engagement and monetization.
  • Create detailed design documents, user flows, and economy models.
  • Propose AB test ideas and iterate based on player data and feedback.
  • Puzzle & Gameplay Tuning
  • Work with level designers to enhance puzzle mechanics and moment-to-moment gameplay.
  • Ensure the gameplay experience is satisfying, accessible, and monetization-friendly.
  • Collaboration & Execution
  • Partner with product managers and engineers to deliver features from concept to live release.
  • Collaborate with artists to ensure UX and visuals support the intended player experience.
  • Player-Centric Development
  • Analyze player behavior and KPIs to inform design decisions.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve retention, engagement, and IAP monetization..
