This is a working lead role—you’ll groom dogs while helping the team grow. The right person leads by example, communicates openly, and takes pride in a trusted, stress-free experience for every dog. What You’ll Do: Groom and teach to Scenthound standards—the puppy cut: one length all over with a neat face Lead, guide, and mentor Bathers and Groomers-in-training Help set the pace and tone for productivity and on-time service in the back of house Provide hands-on support to keep grooming flowing during the day Promote and follow safety and sanitation standards on every dog Help identify areas to improve and put solutions into practice Create a positive, communicative team environment Take on other tasks as assigned by the Scenter Manager This Lead Groomer Position Requires: At least five years of grooming experience Knowledge of dog breeds, care standards, and the tools of the trade Strength to lift up to 70 pounds and stamina to stand for long periods Confidence and empathy handling dogs of all sizes and temperaments A team player who takes initiative and follows through Fear-free certification and Dog CPR certified are a plus Reliable transportation Willingness to work in a smoke-free environment Skills and Abilities: Clear communication with team members and dog parents Strong leadership, problem-solving, and attention to detail Solid time management Ability to self-critique and hold yourself—and your team—to high grooming standards Ready to Lead the Pack?
