Description In the role of Lead Groundskeeper, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day site operations supporting the Groundskeeping Manager in maintaining the overall appearance and upkeep of outdoor areas within the Academy Mapleton Hill (AMH) community. To perform well in this role, the ideal candidate will have previous experience in heavy landscape planning and execution, snow removal, and extensive knowledge about the care and maintenance of plants and outdoor spaces. Benefits (Note: some benefits require full-time status) Employee Medical Dental and Vision Insurance 401(k) Matching Holiday Pay Paid Time Off Life Insurance Short-Term and Long-Term Disability Insurance Responsibilities Oversee that daily functions are completed safely, efficiently and to quality standards: Mow, edge and trim lawns and landscaped areas Plant, maintain, and remove plants, flowers, and trees Water and fertilize lawns and landscaped areas Prune and shape bushes and trees Remove debris and litter from grounds Perform irrigation repairs and adjustments Prepare and maintain flower beds and gardens seasonally Repair and maintain hardscapes, walls, walkway, and other structures on the grounds Remove snow and ice from walkways and roads within the community (shovel and/or plow) Assist the Groundskeeping Manager with the development and implementation of best practices Communicate with the Groundskeeping Manager and co-workers to maintain schedules and coordinate/ prioritize daily tasks for grounds team Guide team members when requested or necessary in a positive and constructive manner and in accordance with departmental protocols Utilize the work order software to track and manage tasks to completion Proficiently and safely operate and maintain groundskeeping equipment and tools including motorized UTV, Skid Steer machine, and Snowblower Qualifications Fluency in English with good communication skills 3+ years of experience in leading a team in a landscape-related field Knowledge of basic horticulture practices and principles Expertise with groundskeeping equipment and tools Strong knowledge of safety procedures and use of personal protective equipment Ability to work flexible hours, occasional holidays, on-call; be available for emergency repairs as required Walking, climbing stairs, bending, squatting, and pushing a wheelchair containing a 150 lb. resident Physical ability to lift and carry 60 lbs. and move heavy equipment Working out of doors in all seasons in varied weather conditions Must possess a valid driver license and have a clean pre-employment motor vehicle record (MVR) Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent, a plus Proficiency in Spanish, a plus
