Reporting to the Service Manager, this position is responsible to diagnose problems and make repairs to all types of trucks, buses, trailers, and other automotive vehicles.
As Lead Hand Technician, your main responsibilities will be providing both technical and administrative support, spot-checking repairs to assure quality and timely completion, and reviewing work orders for accuracy. We are looking to fill our afternoon shift.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Licensed Technician with 310T Certification
- Good communication skills and work attitude
- Quality Driven
- SAP experience is an asset
- Valid Driver’s License and a good driving record
- Criminal Record Check
- Driver’s Abstract
- AZ/DZ License is an asset
Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance of all Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) regulations, as well as the Company’s Health and Safety Policy.
- Providing both technical and administrative support to technicians during the day-to-day business operations.
- Maintains service quality and assisting, when possible, on jobs (on shop floor).
- Strives for harmony with all departments with a strong focus on teamwork and exceptional customer service.
- Maintains contact with service customers on a timely basis and in a professional manner.
- Communicates with the Service Advisor on a timely basis, to schedule shop work efficiently and check on job status as often as necessary.
- Motivates, counsels and monitors the performance of technicians.
- Ensures that technicians follow warranty material disposition procedures.
- Prepares repair estimates when required.
- Reviews technicians’ repair orders to ensure all information is complete and accurate before the next job is assigned to each technician.
- Keeps up to date with the most current information, through training and service letters on technological advances.
