Description

Roska DBO Inc. is currently recruiting for a Lead Hand – Fabrication Shop to join our team in Grande Prairie, Alberta.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Are you a hands-on, physically fit skilled labourer looking to take the next step in your career? Join our tight-knit, hard-working team in a fast-paced fabrication shop where your work makes an immediate impact. As a Lead Hand, you’ll be right in the action — operating equipment, loading trailers, guiding crew members, and helping keep daily operations moving smoothly. This isn’t a role where you sit in an office all day — it’s boots-on-the-ground leadership for someone who thrives in a physically demanding, high-energy environment.
This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong work ethic and solid shop experience who wants to grow into a leadership role.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Physically fit and capable of working long hours in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience operating power and hand tools (impacts, drills, wrenches, etc.).
  • Ability to operate equipment such as forklifts, skid steers loaders, etc.
  • Solid problem-solving skills and the ability to take initiative while also working as part of a team.
  • Class 5 Driver’s License with a clean abstract.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Previous shop or field experience in oil & gas, fabrication, or a similar setting is an asset.
  • Must pass a pre-employment Drug & Alcohol Test
Responsibilities
  • Lead by example with a strong work ethic, positive attitude, and commitment to safety.
  • Operate small equipment such as forklifts and skid steers for loading spools and organizing yard materials.
  • Support the fabrication team with pipe assembly, hydro testing, welding prep, and bolt-ups.
  • Assist with inventory, shipping/receiving, and maintaining an organized and clean workspace.
  • Help ensure daily tasks are completed efficiently, working closely with the shop coordinator.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to labourers and junior crew members.
