Lead Hand Mechanic Leduc, AB | Full-Time | Permanent We’re looking for a Lead Hand Mechanic who can bridge the gap between the floor and the Foreperson — someone who leads by example and keeps work moving.   The Role The Lead Hand Mechanic supports the Shop Foreperson in overseeing daily maintenance operations. You ensure work flows efficiently, equipment moves in and out of the shop properly, and mechanics have what they need to succeed. This is a hands-on role. You will supervise — and you will turn wrenches.   What You’ll Do Supervision & Coordination * Direct and support mechanics, apprentices, and shop hands * Monitor progress of repairs and maintenance tasks * Provide guidance, troubleshooting support, and direction on the floor * Communicate proactively with the Shop Foreperson regarding workflow and issues Shop Operations * Ensure incoming equipment is logged, inspected, and assigned appropriately * Help organize equipment movement in and out of the shop * Maintain workflow efficiency and proper time management Quality & Safety * Ensure all work meets company and regulatory standards * Inspect completed work for quality and compliance * Enforce shop safety procedures and maintain a safe environment Documentation & Reporting * Complete work orders, inspection reports, and equipment logs accurately * Maintain detailed maintenance and repair records * Keep communication clear and direct with leadership Training & Development * Mentor mechanics and apprentices * Support skill development and continuous improvement * Lead by example in workmanship, attitude, and safety   What You Bring * Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician (HET) certification with CVIP * Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence, along with a clean 5-year abstract is required. * Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment Drug & Alcohol Test * Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills * Proven leadership or lead hand experience in a shop environment * Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics * Proficiency with diagnostic tools and equipment * Strong organizational and communication skills * Willingness to work overtime and be on-call as required * Ability to obtain and maintain the following safety certifications is required: * H2S Alive * Standard First Aid with CPR Level C * CSO (Common Safety Orientation) * Confined Space Entry and Monitor * Criminal Record Check may be required.   Working Conditions * Primarily shop-based in Leduc * Physically demanding role — lifting, manual labour, confined spaces, heights * Fast-paced maintenance environment About Pitbull Energy Services Pitbull Energy Services Inc. is a diversified field services company providing comprehensive solutions across Western Canada.
