SUMMARY:

The Lead Hand/Supervisor will play a crucial role in overseeing welding operations within our organization. This position combines hands-on welding expertise with leadership responsibilities to ensure projects meet quality, safety, and efficiency standards.

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Journeyperson/Red Seal Welder certification.
  • Previous experience in a fabrication environment, preferably miscellaneous steel.
  • Efficient and timely decision-making skills.
  • High motivation and commitment to tasks.
  • Time management skills.
  • Commitment to safety and a willingness to learn safe work practices
  • Team player with strong communication skills
  • Positive attitude and willingness to contribute wherever needed in a fast-paced environment
Responsibilities
  • Welding, Fitting, Cutting
  • Lead a team of steel plate fitters/welders/laborers, providing guidance, direction, and support to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and safely.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to understand project requirements and layout plans.
  • Oversee quality control measures to ensure fabricated components meet industry standards and project specifications.
  • Demonstrate andenforce safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, including time sheets.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains and implement changes as appropriate to enhance productivity and quality.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment where team members are motivated to achieve common goals and support each other in their task
