ABOUT THE ROLE

We’re expanding and need a dynamic lead/installation team leader with vast experience to head our installation crews fitting uPVC and aluminium windows and doors (including curtain walling and composite doors) for council projects, retail contracts and trade customers.
Southwest Trade Frames is a family‑run business that truly values its staff. We foster a supportive, “family‑feel” environment with a strong focus on safe, high‑quality workmanship. This is a permanent, full‑time employed position, and a company van is provided.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and organise installation teams: Oversee the removal of old windows and doors and the fitting of new uPVC or aluminium products, including curtain walling and composite doors. Ensure installations follow manufacturer specifications and company procedures.
  • Conduct site surveys: Measure openings accurately, identify structural or safety issues and plan installations accordingly.
  • Work safely and enforce safety protocols: Wear and require appropriate PPE (e.g., safety glasses, gloves, hard hats and safety footwear) whilst following onsite safety procedures.
  • Follow processes and procedures: Adhere to installation guidelines, manufacturer instructions and company processes to ensure compliance with building regulations and energy‑efficiency.
  • Maintain site housekeeping: Keep sites tidy, dispose of waste correctly and remove tripping hazards.
  • Support and communication: Liaise with the installations manager, sales teams and clients to meet project timelines, resolve site issues and make informed decisions quickly.
  • Team development: Mentor and support junior fitters, sharing expertise in curtain walling, composite doors and safe working practices.
