Overview Mika, the Mediterranean restaurant by James Beard Award–winning Chef Michael White, is seeking a poised, confident, and hospitality-driven Lead Host / Hostess to oversee the host stand and serve as the first and lasting impression of the restaurant. This role is ideal for a polished professional with strong leadership skills, exceptional organization, and a genuine passion for guest experience. The Lead Host / Hostess plays a critical role in managing reservations, guest flow, and front-door hospitality while supporting service standards and team culture. Key Responsibilities Guest Experience & Hospitality Greet all guests with warmth, professionalism, and confidence Manage reservations, waitlists, and guest seating to ensure optimal flow and service pacing Build rapport with regulars and VIP guests, ensuring personalized experiences Handle guest inquiries, special requests, and concerns with grace and efficiency Leadership & Host Stand Operations Lead, train, and support host/hostess team members Set expectations for service standards, appearance, and professionalism Coordinate closely with management and floor leadership during service Assist with opening and closing host stand procedures Reservations & Communication Manage reservation systems accurately and efficiently Communicate table status and guest notes clearly with managers and service staff Anticipate high-volume periods and proactively adjust seating strategies Maintain accurate guest profiles and notes when applicable Professionalism & Teamwork Serve as a role model for hospitality, composure, and teamwork Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming host stand Support FOH team members as needed to ensure seamless service Uphold all company policies, safety, and sanitation standards Qualifications Previous hosting experience required; lead or supervisory experience preferred Fine-dining or upscale restaurant experience strongly preferred Strong communication, organization, and multitasking skills Calm, confident demeanor in a fast-paced, high-volume environment Professional appearance and polished presence Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays Why Join Mika Be the face of a renowned restaurant by Chef Michael White Work in a refined, hospitality-driven environment Growth opportunities within a respected restaurant group Competitive compensation in a premier Coral Gables location If you’d like, I can:
