TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • Expertise in occupational hygiene practices including air sampling, noise monitoring, exposure data interpretation, and implementation of exposure controls.
  • Good understanding of return to work process, modified work planning, and related disability case management processes, including knowledge of relevant human rights and employment legislation.
  • Proficiency in managing medical surveillance programs, clinical reporting requirements, and compliance with occupational health regulations.
  • Skilled in preparing and reviewing technical documents such as exposure reports, health risk assessments, program audits, and strategic plans.
  • Familiarity with occupational health and safety software, exposure data systems, electronic medical records (EMRs), and case management platforms.
  • Familiarity with emergency response protocols, triage coordination, and site-wide health incident response procedures.

Responsibilities
  • University degree in Occupational Hygiene, Occupational Health & Safety, Nursing, or a related health discipline; a Master’s degree is considered an asset.
  • Professional designations such as Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Registered Occupational Hygienist (ROH), Certified Disability Management Professional (CDMP), Registered Nurse (RN), or equivalent level of third party designations are strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 8–10 years of progressive experience in health and hygiene, including a minimum of 3 years in a leadership or coordination role.
  • Strong working knowledge of applicable legislation, including provincial occupational health and safety laws, workers’ compensation regulations, human rights obligations, and public health directives.
  • Familiarity with industrial processes, particularly in mining, construction, or other high-risk environments, is highly desirable.
  • Experience working in a remote physical working environment is desired.
