Work Schedule Standard (Mon-Fri) Environmental Conditions Standing for full shift Job Description Job Summary: ThermoFisher Scientific is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead, Import Export to oversee and manage all aspects of our import and export operations. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with international trade regulations, optimize logistics processes, and lead a team to achieve operational excellence. Key Responsibilities: Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all import and export activities comply with international trade regulations, including customs laws, export control regulations, and other relevant legal requirements. Documentation Management: Oversee the preparation and management of all necessary documentation for import and export activities, including invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, and certificates of origin. Logistics Coordination: Coordinate with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and other logistics partners to ensure timely and cost-effective transportation of goods. Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of import/export specialists, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance and professional development. Process Optimization: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve overall effectiveness of import/export operations. Risk Management: Assess and mitigate risks associated with international trade, including compliance risks, supply chain disruptions, and geopolitical factors. Vendor Management: Establish and maintain strong relationships with key vendors and service providers to ensure reliable and cost-effective services. Reporting and Analysis: Monitor and analyze import/export data to identify trends, measure performance, and provide insights for strategic decision-making. Training and Development: Develop and deliver training programs to ensure staff are knowledgeable about current regulations, best practices, and company policies related to import/export activities. Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s degree in International Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred. Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in import/export operations. Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of international trade regulations, customs procedures, and logistics management. Skills: Strong leadership and team management skills, excellent communication and negotiation abilities, and proficiency in using logistics and trade compliance software. Certifications: Professional certifications such as Certified Customs Specialist (CCS), Certified Export Specialist (CES), or similar are highly desirable.
