Description
Description MRA is looking for a powerhouse Lead Industrial Designer to bridge the gap between visionary design and physical reality. This isn't a "desk-only" role; you are the technical heartbeat of our fabrication shop, transforming complex concepts into high-impact mobile experiences, custom trailers, and massive exhibits. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment where the sawdust is flying and the deadlines are tight, we want you at the helm. The Role: Leading the Build As the Lead Industrial Designer, you are the primary link between the design studio and the fabrication floor. You will oversee the full production cycle, ensuring that every weld, panel , and finish matches the technical intent of the prints. Technical Authority: Act as the "source of truth" for the shop. You'll answer real time questions from the builders and troubleshoot design hurdles on the fly, Production Oversight: Manage the transition from 3D models to shop-ready construction drawings with speed and surgical accuracy. Workflow Integration: Collaborate closely with project managers and fabricators to ensure materials are spec'd correctly and deadlines are hit. Requirements What You'll Bring: We need a mix of creative intuition and "boots-on-the-ground" construction knowledge. Industry Expertise: Proven experience in Mobile Experiential design or Custom Trailer fabrication. Candidates with deep roots in Exhibit Design or Industrial Construction will also be highly considered. Drafting Speed: Ability to produce high-quality, accurate technical drawings under tight turnarounds. Communication Mastery: You can talk shop with fabricators and strategy with stakeholders. You're clear, concise, and decisive. Deadline Driven: You don't just respect deadlines; you own them. You have the organizational "engine" to keep multiple projects moving simultaneously Key Responsibilities: Develop comprehensive fabrication drawings, assembly prints, and material callouts. Lead the "print-to-production" handoff, ensuring the shop team fully understands the build requirements. Conduct regular shop walkthroughs to ensure quality control and design fidelity. Qualifications: Degree in Industrial Design, Architecture, or a related field )or equivalent hands on experience). Experience in Solidworks, AutoCAD, Rhino (specific software proficiency require) Have another favorite - we are open to hearing about it and why? Strong understanding of various materials (steel, aluminum, wood, composites) and their manufacturing processes. Portfolio demonstrating successful builds - not jest concepts. We want to see your previous work shine! Why MRA? We don't just build displays; we build environments that move. Our shop is high-energy, collaborative space where your work is seen by thousands across the country. Ready to lead the build? Apply today with your resume and portfolio highlighting your technical drawings and completed physical projects. We have real people looking through the submissions and will call to interview!
