Description

This is the chance to lead a specialized team that builds the infrastructure on which business-critical software runs.

As a Lead Infrastructure Engineer, you are not only the technical expert but also the manager of a small, specialized team. You lead your team, optimize processes, and ensure that everyone can perform at their best. Together, you ensure that our customers have a seamlessly functioning infrastructure that fully supports the Thinkwise Platform, including the AI functionality that plays an increasingly important role in it.

This includes installing and managing the database and application servers required by the platform. Whether it concerns cloud solutions, on-premise infrastructures, or hybrid environments, you combine technical knowledge with leadership to successfully complete projects.

What are you going to do?

Team Management: Leading a small, specialized team of infrastructure specialists. You coach, motivate, and guide your team to perform optimally.
Process Optimization: Analyzing and improving existing work processes within the team. You implement efficient working methods that contribute to higher quality and better results.
Infrastructure Management: Designing, implementing, and optimizing infrastructures in Azure, on-premise environments, or hybrid solutions. Specifically, you focus on the installation and management of database and application servers (Windows Server, SQL Server, IIS) that are essential for the Thinkwise Platform.
Technical coordination: Collaborating with internal teams and partners to seamlessly integrate infrastructure solutions. You monitor progress, set priorities, and resolve bottlenecks.
Customer Communication: Act as the technical point of contact for customers. You translate customer needs into concrete solutions and know how to clearly convey technical concepts, including to non-technical stakeholders.
Continuous improvement: You identify opportunities for improvement in infrastructure, processes, and working methods, and deploy AI tooling where this makes the work faster or more reliable.

Requirements

As a Lead Infrastructure Engineer, you combine technical depth with leadership. You take ownership, provide structure, and know how to make complex issues understandable to everyone at the table:

Technical expertise: Minimum 5 years of experience in infrastructure management, with strong knowledge of Azure, Windows Server, SQL Server and IIS, on-premise infrastructures, and network technologies. Knowledge of AWS or GCP is a plus.
Leadership: You have leadership experience or are a senior engineer looking to take this step. You are capable of coaching, motivating, and providing structure.
Certifications: Certifications such as Azure Administrator or similar accreditations are a plus.
Soft skills: Excellent communication skills in Dutch and English and the ability to clearly explain complex issues. You are analytical, results-oriented, and a natural leader.
Vision and growth: You have ideas about the development of our services and want to further develop them in this role. You guide colleagues and encourage their growth, both professionally and personally.
