YOUR QUALIFICATIONS

  • Journeyperson Trade Certification in Instrument and Controls Technician.
  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant Instrumentation experience with strong oil and gas background (such as gas plants, wellsite’s, oil batteries, liquid gathering and handling facilities). EPCM background is an asset.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work with cross-functional teams and influence decisions.
  • Familiarity with estimating, scheduling, and project management tactics.
Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Lead, Instrumentation Construction will oversee construction projects from inception to completion, including fabrication scope, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. Acting as a conduit between engineering and home office to points of execution for fabrication (Grande Prairie) and construction (Multiple Remote Sites), a primary focus will be on ensuring engineering deliverables are developed to match the path of construction, mitigating risk to execution efficiencies due to deliverable sequencing, and identifying gaps in work front availability. The Lead, Instrumentation Construction will also ensure overall department health from a commercial, efficiency, and resource perspective, using a forward-thinking mentality to progress the department.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in the development of the construction execution plan in line with the overall project strategy and sequence, ensuring alignment with the engineering, manufacturing, vendors, quality, C&SU, and procurement plans.
  • Assist with the development of proposals including cost estimate, schedule, execution plans, etc.
  • Ensure alignment between engineering and execution schedules, monitoring project metrics including cost, quantities, scheduled milestones, and progress.
  • Verify manpower loading requirements and secure personnel, ensure personnel are qualified for their role, identify and secure any specialty tools and equipment, ensure execution team has all required drawings, documents, specifications, etc.
  • Provide constructability input into design work, ensure alignment between execution and engineering schedules, provide documentation review when requested, and ensure continuity of design between projects.
  • Assist in resolving issues that may arise during construction, collaborating with project stakeholders to find effective solutions.
