REQUIREMENTS

• Expertise in SAP Commerce Cloud and a strong ecommerce background
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field
• Excellent knowledge of Java platform (collections, concurrency, etc), Springboot Microservices
• Experience with Gitflow, Jenkins, CI/CD pipelines functioning
• Analysis skills, ability to challenge approaches and propose the most optimal solutions
• Understanding of SDLC and agile methodologies in particular
• Experience with unit and integration testing (JUnit, TestNG, Mockito, etc.)
• Experience with web development technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and front-end framewarks (Angular, React etc)
• Hands-on experience with developer daily basis tools such as IDE’s, compilers, debuggers, profilers, version control systems, bug tracking systems, build systems (Gradle, Maven2, etc), code coverage and automated testing tools
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
• Experienced with containerisation technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)

ABOUT THIS ROLE

We are looking for a lead JAVA developer to be the senior developer in our established internal ecommerce development team at ghd. Our internal team has been in place less than a year and we continue to grow and invest this team to deliver our healthy roadmap. After a successful replatform to SAP Commerce Cloud (v2) we are looking to what’s next – continue to push the capabilities of the platform and ghd’s customer offering whilst building for a more composable future with everything that entails.
We don’t stand still at ghd and we are looking continuously enhance the platform. We are in a period of continuing growth and this role will be instrumental in supporting development operations to the business.
We offer a collaborative and innovative environment and are looking to this role to lead technical development and shape commerce platform delivery for the future. A composable solution is very much on the roadmap for our technical delivery and this role will be key to delivery.

JOB ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• The successful applicant will join our existing in-house experience and capability to develop and grow the commerce platform.
• Lead and provide experience to the other members of the development team
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand project requirements and translate them into technical solutions
• Support developers on their day-to-day tasks
• Analyse and resolve production issues, providing timely support to minimise downtime
• Discovery and implementation through proof of concepts for new features
• Low level design and estimation
• Checking the tasks are going to meet the sprint/release deadlines and raise risks in a timely manner
• Taking care continuous deployment on D environments during sprint
• Define/design integration with third-party services and platforms
• Making sure source code for a task meets the solution agreed
• Optimise e-commerce systems for performance, scalability, and security, ensuring a fast and secure online shopping experience
• Collaborate with the QA team to develop and execute comprehensive test plans, ensuring the reliability and quality of e-commerce applications
• Support wider teams when development manager unavailable
• Deploy releases to production on a rota
