Job Details Job Location: Corporate Headquarters - Morgantown, WV Position Type: Full Time Salary Range: $14.00 - $14.00 Hourly Description An assistant manager provides basic food service duties for the Beehive Café while providing vocational skill habilitation and/or rehabilitation pertaining to food services to individuals with disabilities in accordance with the IDD Waiver program. This position services as the assistant to the Food Services Manager. QUALIFICATIONS GED/H.S diploma preferred. College training and a desire to work in a mission-based non-profit organization preferred, Training in a human services field of study a plus Experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred Experience working in some aspect of food services, Knowledge of kitchen terminology preferred Demonstrated ability to prepare clear and descriptive written documentation Demonstrated ability to give clear instructions in an encouraging tone Experience using computer applications, experience using a web-based application preferred Able to accommodate a flexible work schedule as needed Able to obtain a Food Handlers’ Permit and the PIC certification within 3 months of starting the position Able to pass a Criminal Background Check Must be able to participate and pass trainings to include but not limited to First Aid, CPR and Mandt training A valid driver’s license and must be willing to transport clients for food service related deliveries and activities RESPONSIBILITIES Assist the manager in ordering supplies, reconciling daily sales receipts, running the registers, making deposits, making sure assigned tasks are being completed by others, etc. Performs morning opening and afternoon closing duties as needed Prepare food for Beehive customers Follow instructions in operating kitchen equipment, maintaining the dining area and work areas, and using tools of the trade Implements and follows systematic training according to program plan requirements (i.e. habilitation plans, program plans) Train individuals on specific work requirements according to the employment program placement Conducts on-going assessment of the client’s work skills against the demands of the work site Follows food services health and safety protocols Ensures that the kitchen is clean according to standards Completes all necessary data entry and paperwork within the time frame required Participates in periodic staff training Advocates with employers and the community to shape a positive image of persons with disabilities PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Physical demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is often required to walk; sit for long periods on time; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 lbs. Work environment: This position involves moving with clients, sitting for periods of time, and working with kitchen equipment.
