JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

As an Advanced Manufacturing and Repair Technology (AMRT) Machining and Technologies Engineer, you will lead the development and industrialization of machining processes, technologies, and equipment for a diverse range of industrial gas turbine components.
Your responsibilities will include collaborating with global and cross-functional teams to advance innovative machining solutions within the Gas Power supply chain, supporting both new production and serviced hardware.
This position offers the opportunity to drive impactful improvements that contribute to both immediate and long-term business objectives for GE Vernova and its global partners.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university with 5 years of CNC experience {OR} an associates degree with a minimum of 8 years of CNC experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of laser programming experience
  • 5+ years of CAD/CAM skills and proven ability to translate 3D models into tool movement and machine movement that achieves design goals

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to stand or walk for up to 6 hours per day
  • Willingness and ability to travel to domestic and/or international shops; 15-20%

Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and global industrialization of new machining processes and technologies that will be utilized in multiple global service centers with a primary focus on laser ablation & vision/machine learning.
  • Generate, test and implement new CNC programs utilizing NX-CAM or other software for a variety of CNC machine types & controls.
  • Work effectively as an individual and in a team-based environment to meet business priorities
  • Develop new manufacturing techniques and industrialize cutting edge technologies
  • Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks
  • Drive Process Improvement / Cycle Reduction initiatives and drive productivity improvements via process changes or improvements.
  • Maintain schedules for the project deliverables & communicate progress to all levels of the organization.
  • Ensure processes contribute to a safe work environment.
  • Identify and reduce product quality issues caused by product &/or process variation.
  • Mentor & provide technical guidance for engineers and specialist in the execution of design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering practices and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements.
  • Utilize lean-manufacturing values and participate in action workouts to improve process capability, reduce overall costs, and increase capacity.
  • Outline resource planning needs to meet prioritized needs across global service centers.
  • Work effectively in a fast-paced environment while embracing and driving positive change inside and outside the organization while adopting our GE VERNOVA SQDC Principals.
