We are currently seeking a Lead Line Technician to join our operations in a permanent, full-time position in Canada and the United States.
The Lead Line Technician is involved in all facets of outside plant construction including Fibre Optics, Copper and RF Coax. This is a hands-on role that requires technical expertise, attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high quality work.
As a successful candidate, you will have the opportunity to travel across the Atlantic provinces. While on the road, we prioritize your comfort by providing daily per diem and accommodations paid for by the company.
This role requires a willingness to travel, work a minimum of 40 hours per week, and have a valid driver’s license and reasonable driver’s abstract.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Operate vehicle-mounted aerial device equipment;
  • Operate cable lashing machines and other lineman equipment;
  • Load and unload equipment and cable trailers;
  • Outside Plant (OSP) line construction with coax, copper and fibre cables;
  • Perform testing and troubleshooting if required;
  • Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Strong manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and attention to detail;
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions, confined spaces, isolation;
  • Ability to work construction in a physically demanding atmosphere including, but is not limited to: carry, raise and climb a ladder, carry, lift and handle heavy equipment (manhole covers, cable reels);
  • Self-disciplined, motivated, organized, and a team player;
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and repetitive tasks.

Additional Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license Class 3 with airbrakes endorsement;
  • Willingness to work overtime, weekends, or on emergency call outs as required;
  • The successful candidate will be required to pass a criminal record check.

Experience Required

  • 3+ years of Line Technician related experience in a telecommunications environment is preferred;
  • Technical training or lineman training/certification considered an asset;
  • Preference given to candidates with telecommunications experience in outside plant construction (OSP) and FTTx projects.

Compensation and Benefits

  • The hourly wage for this position ranges between $22.00/hr - $35.00/hr, depending on experience, skills and qualifications.
  • Compensation is paid out every week on Thursdays;
