Responsibilities

AS A LOGISTICS SPECIALIST, YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

  • Managing shipments from point of origin to destination, selecting appropriate transport mode and carriers.
  • Defining and following the transportation procurement strategy for the assigned area and implementing it according to business needs.
  • Leading as a project leader of medium-sized projects or as a major contributor to bigger projects. Work goals typically take 3-6 months to complete, and the time horizon for results/impact is typically 2-12 months after the event.
  • Negotiating spot rates with Carrier and Freight Forwarder, managing consolidation, and trying to mix volumetric and dense shipments to optimize costs.
  • Arranging shipments for exceptional transport (oversized and/or overweight, Project Cargo).
  • Finding new solutions when exceptional situations arise with the Transportation CoE Leader.
  • Verifying the accuracy of the supplier’s invoices and approving costs.
  • Being the main contact point between Supply Chain functions and the Transportation Team, ensuring support in a prompt manner.
  • Arranging Dangerous Goods shipments.
  • Ensuring the information flow is continuous inside all IET departments.
  • Building relationships with internal teams and customers to ensure clear communication and trust.

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in a related course or field.
  • Have at least minimum of 5 years of experience in logistics/ Transport/Operations.
  • Have good knowledge of Transportation dynamics and Freight management.
  • Show experience in Freight Services (Ocean, Air, Road, OOG) and knowledge of freight processes, including DGR rules, international ground transport limitations
  • Display knowledge of EU Customs Regulation and good transport costs
  • Be able to show good problem-solving and analytical skills along with interpersonal, leadership, and negotiation skills
  • Have good verbal and written skills, be fluent in both English and Italian.
  • Display Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Be Computer-savvy with a working knowledge of Transportation Management System (TMS
