Description

Astute’s Power Team are currently recruiting a Lead Maintenance Engineer to join the O&M team on an Operational Waste to Energy facility based close to Dundee. The role is oversee 9 Maintenance Technicians on site managing routine maintenance checks for the bubbling Fluidised Bed (BFB) plant.
The Lead Maintenance Engineer comes with a day rate form £400.00 to £450.00 per day.

Role responsibilities and key skills for the role:

  • Lead, coordinate, and support a team of 9 multi-skilled maintenance technicians.
  • Manage day-to-day maintenance activities on the bubbling fluidised bed plant.
  • Oversee the inspection, repair, and upkeep of conveying systems and associated heavy industrial plant equipment.
  • Ensure all maintenance work is carried out safely, efficiently, and in compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Support in planning and execution of preventive maintenance schedules and breakdown response.
  • Liaise with operational teams, OEMs, and other stakeholders to maintain plant reliability and availability.
  • Maintain clear documentation of maintenance activities, work permits, and reports.
  • Proven experience in a heavy industrial environment, specifically with conveying systems.
  • Strong leadership skills and experience managing or supervising technical teams.
  • Solid understanding of mechanical and electrical maintenance processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and maintenance manuals.
  • Comfortable working in a high-risk industrial environment with strict safety protocols.
  • Previous experience in Energy from Waste, biomass, or power generation facilities in a desirable.
  • Experience working with bubbling fluidised bed boiler technology.
