Description Who We’re Looking For We are looking for a dedicated and talented Lead Maintenance Technician to join our team. As the lead, this individual will oversee maintenance activities and provide guidance for other staff while conducting general maintenance, repairs, and preventive care for manufacturing facility equipment. Additional duties include property and grounds maintenance. All tasks must be conducted in adherence to EPA, Hazmat, and OSHA safety regulations. The Details § Maintain facilities and equipment by following diagrams, prints, manuals, and manufacturer instructions. § Perform mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting and repairs on production machines, tools, and facility systems. § Follow and execute preventive maintenance plans and recommend improvements as needed. § Inspect facilities and systems to ensure compliance with health, safety, and quality standards. § Receive, organize, and prioritize work orders; delegate tasks and communicate assignments effectively to internal team members and external partners. § Review completed work to ensure quality, accuracy, and compliance with requirements. § Diagnose and repair electrical systems, including lighting, breaker panels, and related components. § Conduct general facility upkeep, such as painting, carpentry, grounds care, snow removal, and other tasks as assigned. § Install and maintain systems including dust collection, ventilation, refrigeration, and alarm systems; schedule repairs when needed. § Troubleshoot equipment computer and network connectivity issues in collaboration with IT or outside vendors. § Repair faulty equipment or coordinate vendor support when replacement or specialized service is required. § Minimize downtime by communicating preventive maintenance needs and timelines to production teams. § Order, repair, or replace defective parts using appropriate hand and power tools; initiate purchase requisitions for machinery, parts, supplies, tooling, and vendor services. § Support equipment installations, relocations, and plant layout modifications. § Report damage, defects, and safety issues to shop supervision immediately. § Maintain strong, positive working relationships with coworkers and management. § Participate in meetings, training, and seminars to develop skills and improve efficiency. Uphold Goebel’s Core Values and comply with all safety and quality requirements Requirements Working Environment: The maintenance department operates in a fast-paced, physically demanding setting. This role requires consistent in-person availability for a minimum of 40 hours per week to fulfill lead responsibilities, support operational demands, and maintain essential on-site leadership coverage. The position also demands the ability to perform tasks such as lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing, and balancing. Additionally, frequent stooping, kneeling, and crawling are essential to successfully fulfill the responsibilities of this role. The Skills & Experience § Proven experience as a Lead Maintenance Technician or in a comparable maintenance leadership role. § Reliable on-site presence essential for real-time decision-making, managing workflow escalations, and providing direct guidance to maintenance staff. § Demonstrated ability to consistently meet the full schedule, leadership coverage, and oversight responsibilities of the role, including flexibility to support or backfill for team members when operational needs arise. § Proficient in using meters, diagnostic tools, and related testing equipment. § Solid understanding of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems. § Strong knowledge of general maintenance processes, methods, and preventive maintenance best practices. § Working knowledge of tools, woodworking production equipment, and general building maintenance. § Proficient computer skills. § Experience with ERP, MES, or other business management software is a plus. § Automation experience is a plus. § Manual dexterity and strong critical thinking skills, with the ability to assess issues and determine appropriate solutions. § Good physical condition and strength, with a willingness to work overtime to meet operational or leadership coverage needs. § High school diploma or equivalent, with at least 3 years of relevant maintenance experience.
