SUMMARY

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Maintenance Technician - Lead - to oversee daily maintenance operations at our facility. This hands-on role will support the facility manager in overseeing maintenance of the facility and ensuring the smooth, safe, and efficient operation of all building systems. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in industrial/commercial facility maintenance, excellent troubleshooting skills, and the ability to lead by example while mentoring junior technicians.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must pass a mechanical aptitude test as part of the hiring process
  • Extensive experience in facility maintenance, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical systems, pumps, and valves.
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills across a wide range of building systems.
  • Proficiency with tools, maintenance equipment, and relevant safety procedures.
  • Ability to prioritize, multitask, and manage a team effectively under minimal supervision.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; comfortable interfacing with staff, vendors, and management.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical training.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 5 year’s of experience in facility maintenance.
  • Background in food and ingredients manufacturing.
  • Industry certifications in facility maintenance or specific trades (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, etc.) strongly preferred.
  • 18 years of age or older.
Responsibilities
  • Lead and coordinate the daily activities of the maintenance team, ensuring tasks are completed effectively and on schedule.
  • Perform and oversee inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on building systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical systems, pumps, and valves.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for escalated maintenance issues and complex troubleshooting.
  • Monitor and prioritize incoming service requests, and assign tasks based on urgency and team capacity.
  • Ensure all maintenance work is performed in compliance with safety codes, regulations, and internal standards.
  • Maintain and review accurate maintenance logs, checklists, and documentation for all work performed.
  • Assist in training and mentoring new and existing team members to uphold high-quality standards and foster professional growth.
  • Coordinate with external contractors and vendors for specialized repairs or projects, ensuring quality and efficiency.
  • Support inventory management of tools, supplies, and parts, ensuring availability and proper condition of all maintenance equipment.
  • Participate in and lead emergency response efforts such as power outages, system failures, or safety incidents.
  • Communicate effectively with internal departments and leadership regarding maintenance status, needs, and ongoing issues.
