Job Summary: The Lead Manufacturing Engineer plans, directs, and coordinates the activities of the manufacturing engineering operations across the facility, managing a team of 3 engineers, working closely with other departments such as production, facilities, QA and supply chain. This roles ensures documentation and development of efficient processes, identification and implementation of cost reduction opportunities, the design and selection of test equipment, capital equipment, and the handling of personnel issues.The position also serves as a succession path for the Operations Plant Manager, offering significant leadership growth opportunities. Key Responsibilities: ▪ Oversee daily workflow of Engineering department▪ Collaborate with other leaders to set and assess priorities across teams▪ Assess cost effectiveness and feasibility of manufacturing processes; make and implements recommendations to reduce costs and improve efficiency▪ Supervise tooling operations, ensuring all work is performed accurately and according to quality and safety standards▪ Review and approve engineering change documentation▪ Manage the development and control of tooling, method sheets, manufacturing procedures, training programs, routers, data sheets, set-up sheets, sequence of events sheets, and related documentation▪ Administer the design, selection, and acquisition of manufacturing tools and equipment, including Capital Appropriation Requests (CAR’s).▪ Validate time standards for existing and new products▪ Implement Lean Manufacturing initiatives▪ Work closely with the EHS Manager to ensure compliance with health and safety laws, regulations, and guidelines including EPA, OSHA, etc.▪ Ensure team is fully trained and receives applicable development/training to improve skill sets ▪ Lead company OPEX, VA/VE savings program and reporting ▪ Direct, coordinate, and evaluate assigned departments ▪ Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
