Description:

The Role
At Capefront, We’re seeking for a new AOV/MOV lead as well as a Mechanical Lead for one of our client in UAE within the nuclear sector. The AOV/MOV Lead plays a critical role in ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of Air-Operated Valves (AOVs) and Motor-Operated Valves (MOVs) within the nuclear power plant. The purpose of this position is to lead and oversee all preventive and curative maintenance, testing, troubleshooting, and modifications of AOV/MOV systems while ensuring strict compliance with nuclear regulatory requirements and plant safety protocols and the highest level of safety and quality standards within the team. The AOV/MOV Lead is fully aware of component engineering program activities and complex troubleshooting, engineering evaluations, operability determinations, Operational Decision-Making Issues (ODMIs) and temporary modifications through the planning, execution, and post close-out phases for the Barakah Nuclear Power Plant (BNPP) acts as the subject matter expert, providing technical leadership, developing team capabilities, and driving operational excellence. Key Responsibilities : Develop and implement work packages, procedures, and schedules for AOV/MOV tasks. Lead and supervise AOV/MOV maintenance and testing activities as per the planned schedule. Perform diagnostic testing, valve performance assessments, and troubleshooting. Coordinate with engineering teams to resolve operational issues and implement modifications. Train and mentor junior technicians and team members on AOV/MOV maintenance and operations. Support outage planning, execution, and post-outage evaluations related to valves. Collaborate with Maintenance, Operations, Engineering, Radiation Protection, and Procurement teams to ensure situational awareness and alignment on outage schedules. Maintain and manage certifications and documentation for AOV/MOV equipment. Provide technical support and guidance to team members as needed. Requirements
Minimum Qualifications: A relevant experience in the coordination or the management of an outage in a WANO Nuclear Power Plant (in term of team / spec / field). (MANDATORY) Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical discipline (with sufficient experience). Crane certificate for Basic acquisition and advanced analysis for AOV and MOV. Minimum Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years in AOV/MOV maintenance, testing, and leadership roles in a nuclear powerplant. Technical expertise in AOV/MOV systems and diagnostics. • Familiarity with valves, actuators, and control systems. • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, schematics, and troubleshooting techniques. • Strong knowledge of pneumatic systems, schematics, and troubleshooting techniques. • Knowledge in valve operations & diagnostic • Proficiency in using diagnostic equipment and software for testing. • Understanding of nuclear industry standards, codes, and safety requirements. • Strong communication skills • Capable to work under pressure like outage maintenance.
