POSITION SUMMARY

Join our dynamic team as a Lead Mechanical Project Engineer, where you’ll play a pivotal role in the expansion of a mineral processing plant. Based on-site in Perth, WA, you’ll be instrumental in supporting the client team throughout the construction phase. This is a 9-month contract with the potential for extension, offering a FIFO roster of 2 weeks on, 1 week off, with 11-hour workdays. As the Lead Mechanical Engineer, you will report to the Project Engineering Manager and be responsible for overseeing the engineering aspects of the project. Your expertise in base metals, rare earth minerals, and mineral processing techniques such as Crushing, Grinding, and Flotation will be crucial. You will lead and collaborate with a diverse team, ensuring project deliverables are met on time and to the highest standards. We are looking for an innovative thinker with a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent, who has strong technical competence and the ability to work both collaboratively and autonomously. Previous site experience in mineral processing plants is preferred, and you must have valid rights to work in Australia. Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

  • Lead the mechanical engineering efforts for the construction of a mineral processing plant expansion, ensuring all project objectives are met.
  • Collaborate with the Project Engineering Manager to align engineering activities with project timelines and deliverables.
  • Oversee and manage the engineering team on-site, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality outcomes.
  • Apply engineering principles to solve complex technical challenges in mineral processing, including Crushing, Grinding, and Flotation.
  • Coordinate with diverse teams, including external consultants and companies, to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Innovate and implement engineering solutions to optimize plant performance and efficiency.
  • Monitor project progress and report to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and accountability.
