We are seeking an experienced Lead Mechanical Technician to oversee the maintenance, repair, and optimization of mechanical systems. This role requires a skilled professional who can lead a team of technicians while ensuring the highest standards of facility operations and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team ManagementLead and mentor a team of mechanical technicians
Coordinate work schedules, assignments, and resource allocation
Conduct performance reviews and provide technical training
Ensure adherence to health and safety protocols across all operations
Technical OperationsOversee preventive maintenance programs for HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems
Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical issues across multiple properties
Maintain building management systems (BMS) and energy optimization systems
Ensure compliance with Irish building regulations and safety standards
Coordinate with external contractors and service providers
Quality & ComplianceImplement and maintain quality assurance procedures
Ensure compliance with SEAI energy efficiency requirements
Maintain accurate maintenance records and technical documentation
Support sustainability initiatives and carbon reduction targets
Required Qualifications
Education & CertificationsTrade qualification in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC, or related field
Valid Safe Pass certification
FETAC Level 6 qualification or equivalent preferred
Gas Safe/RGI certification (advantageous)
F-Gas handling certification
ExperienceMinimum 5-7 years mechanical maintenance experience
2+ years in a supervisory or lead role
Experience with commercial building systems
Knowledge of BMS systems (Trend, Honeywell, Johnson Controls)
Skills & CompetenciesStrong leadership and communication skills
Excellent problem-solving abilities
Proficiency with maintenance management systems
Knowledge of Irish health and safety regulations
