Position Summary:
To supervise and monitor the daily activities in the section assigned and ensure that all requests for laboratory testing are accomplished in a timely and accurate manner consistent with departmental policies and procedures. Ensures that all equipment and procedures are functioning properly to provide an acceptable level of service. To have the ability to evaluate the quality of results rendered to physicians and institute corrective actions if results do not meet established criteria. Ensures that all procedures and manuals are current, and conform to accreditation standards. Performs bench work meeting the same guidelines and expectations as other Medical Technologists. Performs other reasonable and related duties as assigned.

What you will do in this role:

  • Participates in hospital or departmental performance improvement activities.
  • Perform special assignments as needed/requested.
  • Serves as a clinical resource to department staff, students, volunteers and other departments, and contributes to the teamwork essential to ensuring quality patient care.
  • Takes appropriate measures to ensure safety of patients.
  • Attend staff meetings and in-services.

    • Transport patients safely.
  • Provide care of patients with a variety of medical diagnosis and resulting complications.
  • Participates in hospital or departmental performance improvement activities.
  • Reviews results of all work performed in their area on a daily basis.
  • Maintains proficiency in all areas of the laboratory.
