Description LOCATION: Wayne County Health Department - Wayne, MI 48184 POSITION SUMMARY: This employee will provide leadership to a team of Medical Marijuana Specialists as well as conducting Specialist duties. This includes providing health education materials to medical marijuana dispensaries and advocacy groups, as well as other outreach functions. Employees will also focus on strategically connecting with Wayne County communities throughout the respective calendar year, potentially through focus groups, health education sessions, distribution of education materials, regular communication with medical marijuana advocacy groups, partnerships with Maternal Child Health programs, and other outreach efforts. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Provide health education materials to medical marijuana dispensaries and advocacy groups, as well as other outreach functions Manage and maintain program information Perform clerical tasks, including processing mail, photocopying, faxing and scanning documents. Provide timely documentation of services/information using an electronic system. Gather information and run reports in a timely manner as requested. Assists with program inventory and maintain supplies as needed. Assists with the implementation of organizational goals, initiatives and plans. Perform other duties as assigned. JOB QUALIFICATIONS: (Items needed to start and/or keep position) Experience in community outreach Ability to appropriately use computer software programs and telephone. Excellent interpersonal skills. Excellent knowledge of resources. Maintain productivity standards. Participate in staff meeting, in-service trainings, education, case conferences, emergency preparedness training/responses and professional meetings which are job related. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: An associate degree in the field of healthcare, public policy, or Human Services A bachelor's or master’s Degree in the Health and Human Service field is preferred.
