Responsibilities Under the direct supervision of the Laboratory Director and Manager, the Lead Medical Technologist (Blood Bank/Hematology) is responsible for providing supervision of other professional and non-professional staff in the Laboratory. The Lead Medical Technologist (Blood Bank/Hematology) ensures staff delivers excellent patient care, customer service, and efficient and accurate analysis of specimens processed in the clinical laboratory. In the absence of the Laboratory Director and/or Laboratory Manager, the Lead Medical Technologist (Blood Bank/Hematology) is responsible for providing direction to personnel of the clinical laboratory. Qualifications MINIMUM EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in medical technology or related science from an accredited college or university. MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE: 3 –5 years in clinical laboratory. REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS: ASCP or equivalent certification. REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES: Knowledge and skills to perform procedures in Blood Bank, Chemistry, Hematology, Immunology/Serology, Urinalysis, Limited Microbiology, point-of-care, Phlebotomy, and administrative skills.
