The post holder will work as part of the Clinical Services team in the comprehensive and efficient stock management and supply of medicines.
The post holder will undertake medicines management duties such transcribing and Patient’s Own Drugs (POD) checks with the guidance of a registered pharmacy technician.
The post holder will carry out accuracy checks on designed/screened items to support ward-based relabelling for discharge, following departmental standard operating procedures.
The post holder will manage the Pharmacy Returns Officer and oversee/supervise the day-to-day workload and rotation of the Medicines Management Pharmacy Assistants (MMPAs) across the Trust.
The post holder will mentor and support training of junior and senior pharmacy support workers and other members of staff as deemed appropriate by the chief pharmacy technician – clinical services.
The post holder will review and manage the stock management and returns from wards.
