About the role The Lead, Ministerial and Executive Services oversees the delivery of high-quality Ministerial, Parliamentary and executive services for NESA, providing authoritative advice on complex policy and government matters and ensuring the Agency meets its statutory, Ministerial and Government obligations. It plays a critical coordination role across all NESA divisions, bringing together executive services, subject matter experts and senior stakeholders to ensure cohesive, timely and high-quality advice. This is a unique opportunity to operate at the centre of government decision-making, influence outcomes at a senior level, and lead a high-performing team in a fast-paced, high-profile environment. You will also drive system and process improvements that strengthen how Ministerial and Parliamentary services are delivered across the organisation. On a day-to-day basis, you will: Analyse and review complex policy issues, identify emerging risks and trends, and develop evidence-based options to inform executive and government decision-making. Manage the preparation of sensitive, complex and time-critical Ministerial, Parliamentary and executive briefings, correspondence, Cabinet and Budget materials in line with strict protocols and standards. Lead and manage a team to support the delivery of NESA’s Ministerial and Government business objectives and significant policy initiatives. Coordinate executive services across all NESA divisions, working collaboratively with internal business units and subject matter experts to ensure cohesive, high-quality advice. Design and implement improved systems and processes to enhance the efficiency, quality and consistency of Ministerial and Parliamentary services, embedding a culture of continuous improvement. Build and maintain strong, trusted relationships with the NESA Executive, Ministers’ offices and stakeholders across the Education cluster. Monitor emerging trends and sector developments impacting NESA’s remit to anticipate risks and support strategic responses. Oversee the preparation of reports, briefs and correspondence to respond to Agency and Government requests. Our ideal candidate will bring tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline or demonstrated equivalent relevant professional experience with a proven ability to deliver high-quality outcomes in complex, fast-paced and high-profile environments. You bring sound judgement, resilience and integrity, and are confident providing well-considered advice on sensitive or contentious issues. You will demonstrate: Experience managing competing priorities in high-volume, deadline-driven environments with diplomacy, confidentiality and sound judgement. A strong track record delivering accurate, high-quality policy advice on complex issues within tight timeframes. Well-developed stakeholder engagement, influence and negotiation skills, including experience working with senior executives and Ministers’ offices. Experience coordinating executive or central support functions across large, complex organisations. Demonstrated capability in designing and improving systems and processes to drive efficiency, quality and continuous improvement. Advanced written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex information into clear, persuasive advice. Proven experience leading and developing high-performing teams and embedding a culture of accountability and integrity.
