Description
Role Overview We are seeking a highly skilled Mobile Mechanic to maintain and repair our private fleet of CDL vehicles and specialized hydraulic equipment. This consists primarily of bucket trucks and digger derricks. You will be the primary mechanic for our in-house assets, ensuring zero downtime and maximum safety. This is a field-based role serving our CT operations. Key Responsibilities Engine & Drivetrain: Perform full-spectrum diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance on fleet vehicles. Hydraulic Systems: Troubleshoot and repair pumps, cylinders, valves, and hoses. Mobile Operations: Respond to service calls and conduct scheduled maintenance at various company sites/yards in the Greater Hartford area. Compliance: Ensure all company vehicles meet DOT and FMCSA safety standards. Documentation: Maintain digital records of parts used, labor hours, and maintenance intervals for the in-house fleet. Emergency Response: Immediately respond to job sites to repair downed equipment and support the company during ongoing operations during storm restoration efforts. Qualifications & Requirements Experience: Minimum 5+ years of professional experience as a heavy duty mechanic with extensive experience in dealing with aerial lifts (bucket trucks) and line erecting equipment. Technical Proficiency: Ability to read schematics and use diagnostic software. CDL Knowledge: While a CDL Class A or B is preferred (not required). Tools: Must possess a complete set of professional-grade hand tools and diagnostic equipment.. Location: Must be based in or near Hartford, CT, with a clean driving record.
